The finished art installation ‘A Trip to the Moon’ at ‘Body & Soul 2013’.
‘A Trip to the Moon’ is a collaborative project between myself and the participants from EVE Estuary.
It is an interactive sculptural replica of a ‘Paper Moon’ photographic prop.
All the gang from EVE Estuary really enjoyed being a part of this project. The set-up crew loved seeing all of the behind the scenes action that is involved in creating a festival like this. The opportunity to exhibit at ‘Body & Soul’ was a fantastic experience- personally, artistically, socially, and educationally for everyone involved.
Check out this post on the EVE Estuary blog for more images of the lads in action, the finished piece and their reaction to the overall experience of being involved in this project.
Modern cameras, telephones, and apps provided the means for people to create their own individual pictures at the installation during the festival to take away free of charge, these photos were subsequently uploaded to various social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, creating a internet legacy that will last.
Recognising this, myself and EVE Estuary have invited festival-goers to send us their own shots for upload to this blog and EVE Estuary’s own blog. We have also added a few extra effects such as stars and clouds to some of them. Send me along any of your ‘A Trip to the Moon’ photos and we wil upload them and maybe add a few extra effects to them for you.
Here are a few more picture that I took from around the festival. I really loved the piece titled ‘Hanami : The Pink Tree’ that was created by ‘Treadstories’ a collaborative project initiated by artist Carrie Lynam.
